Established as a nonprofit and nonsectarian private university, RUD came into existence under the aegis of the Private University Act, 1992, of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Message From The Vice Chancellor

Royal University of Dhaka (RUD) is established in 2003 by eminent philanthropists Dr. Momtaz Begum and Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal keeping in view to provide higher education to the students of different stratifications of the society across the nation irrespective of religion, ethnicity and gender. The university has two campuses: the one is city campus which is situated at Banani, Dhaka and the other one permanent campus is located at Bashghari, Bhairab. The main mission of this university is to create innovative international standard of education for the students that can contribute for human resource development to improve the quality of life and well being for the humanity.

Royal University of Dhaka has seven under graduate programs and four graduate programs under the three faculties. The faculty members are highly qualified and well experienced with strong research background. Royal University of Dhaka is believed in theoretical, practical and interactive education system so that the students can able to stand by their own feet in future across the world. Moreover, this university promotes Whole Person Education (WPE) in order to prepare the students to make them complete human being. In addition of formal education, the students are involved in co-curriculum activities viz. debate, sports and games, cultural activities, distribution of reliefs during the natural calamities, and voluntary services to the disadvantaged people. The Royal University of Dhaka is an institution for cultivation of knowledge, creation of knowledge and exchange of knowledge to ensure the quality of education.
Royal University of Dhaka is very much eager to provide creative and innovative education to the students involving the students, faculties, parents and civil society. The students are graduated from Royal University have already proved themselves as worthy through their employment in different organizations. The success of the graduates has already proved that Royal University of Dhaka is an institution that upholds excellence education across the nation as well as abroad.
